Good to know

Which format to choose

MP3 plays on almost any device and is encoded from the video’s sound. M4A and AAC are good choices for Apple devices and many editing apps. If you are unsure, MP3 is the safest option for sharing.

Your video stays as it is

Extraction creates a separate audio file. The original video on your device is not changed, so you can mute it afterwards if you want a silent copy too.

What extraction can’t do

A video without an audio track has nothing to extract. The tool saves the soundtrack as one piece; it cannot separate a voice from music or remove background noise.

Formats and limits

Extraction works with MP4, MOV and WebM: up to 10 files, 500 MB combined on desktop or 150 MB on mobile. Processing uses an FFmpeg engine in your browser, so your recordings are not uploaded.

Questions and answers

Which audio format should I pick?

Choose MP3 for the widest compatibility. M4A or AAC suit Apple devices and editing apps that prefer AAC audio.

Can I extract audio from a video with no sound?

No. If the video has no audio track, there is nothing to extract.

Does extracting remove the sound from the video?

No. It creates a separate audio file and leaves your video unchanged.

Can I extract only the vocals?

No. The whole soundtrack is saved together; voice isolation is not available.
