Why mute a clip for Discord
Game captures and screen recordings often catch voice chat, music or a microphone that should have been off. Muting before you post means nobody in the channel hears what you didn’t mean to share.
Silence a clip and see at once if it fits Discord’s free limit.

A video file is a container: one track holds the picture, other tracks hold sound, subtitles or timecode. To mute a video, MuteVideo removes the audio tracks and copies the picture track exactly as it was — nothing is decoded or compressed again.
For MP4 and MOV, only the file’s index is rewritten in your browser. The picture data is referenced in place, so even large files finish in seconds without filling your device’s memory.
For WebM, MKV and AVI, an FFmpeg engine compiled to WebAssembly runs in your browser tab and performs the same stream copy.
Your video is read from your device and saved back to it. It isn’t sent to a server.

Discord’s current free upload limit is 20 MB per file, and Nitro plans allow larger files. After processing, MuteVideo shows whether the silent file fits under that limit. Discord can change its limits, so check its help pages if a file is close.
Removing audio saves only the space the sound took up, and MuteVideo does not compress video. If the file is still over the limit, cut it to a shorter section with the trim tool, or use a dedicated compression app before sharing.

No. It removes audio and shows whether the result fits, but it does not compress the picture.
It depends on the audio track. The before-and-after sizes are shown once processing finishes.
Yes. The trim and mute tool removes the sound and keeps only the range you choose, which also reduces the size.
